# Main Dashboard

The landing page: how the fleet is doing today, what needs attention, and where every other section starts.

*Monitoring & Control → Main Dashboard*

## What this page is for

The Main Dashboard is where the portal opens. It is deliberately a summary rather than a working tool: five numbers across the top for the whole account, a map of where the assets are, an energy curve for the selected period, and three tabs that queue up what needs a person — systems, alerts and service calls.

Think of it as the morning glance. It answers "is anything on fire?" in a few seconds, and every panel on it is a doorway into the section that actually does the work.

## The KPI strip

The five cards along the top summarise the whole account, filtered by whatever the filter panel is set to and bounded by the selected period.

| Card | What it shows |
| --- | --- |
| **Installed Capacity** | Total DC capacity across the fleet, with the system count underneath. |
| **Production** | Energy generated in the selected period, with its monetary value beneath. |
| **MTD** | Month to date — energy and value since the start of the current month. |
| **Lifetime** | Everything the fleet has ever produced, and what it was worth. |
| **Service Calls** | The total, with overdue in red and upcoming beside it. |

Two of these behave differently from the rest and it is worth knowing which. **Production** follows the period selector; **MTD** and **Lifetime** do not — they are fixed windows and will not change when you step the date back. So a dashboard showing 0 kWh of production and a healthy lifetime figure is normal early in the morning, or on a day the fleet has not reported yet.

### Why Production can read zero

The commonest cause is simply the time of day or the date you are looking at. After that, in order of likelihood: the fleet has not finished reporting for the period; the filter is narrowed to systems that are offline; or a data-collection problem. The Insights tab is the fastest way to tell the third case from the first two.

## The map

The map plots every system in the current filter, coloured by live status — green for healthy, amber and grey for the rest — so a cluster of grey in one region usually means a regional outage rather than 30 unrelated faults.

- **Map / Satellite** switches the base layer.
- The **expand** control at the top right gives the map the full panel.
- Markers cluster when zoomed out; zoom in to separate them.

## The energy chart

Below the map, energy against time for the selected period, in kWh. On a normal production day this is the shape you learn to recognise — a smooth curve peaking around solar noon. A flat line means no energy in the period; notches and steps in an otherwise smooth curve are the visual signature of clipping, curtailment or an inverter dropping out.

Under the chart sit two environmental figures — **Equivalent Trees Planted** and **CO₂ Emission Saved (Tons)** — derived from production over the same window. They are for reporting and customer-facing material rather than operations.

## The three tabs

The right-hand panel is the part you act on. Each tab carries a count in its label, each has its own search box, and each has a **View All** link that opens the full page behind it — so the dashboard shows you the first handful and the real page shows you everything.

### PV Systems

The fleet list in miniature, with the data source's logo beside each name. Columns are *Name*, *Capacity*, *Production*, *Revenue*, *Norm/Exp*, *Ensights PR* and *Actual vs Expected*, all sortable. **View All** opens Fleet Management → PV Sites, where the same list has filters, saved views and the full column set.

The small coloured icons after a system's name are status indicators, and hovering one explains it:

- A red **bell** — the system has open alerts.
- A red **wrench** — it has service calls against it.
- A red **calendar** — it has expired (overdue) scheduled tasks; the tooltip names how many and of what type.
- A blue **droplet** — cleaning is recorded or due for it.

A row carrying three or four of these is the one to open first, regardless of where it sits in the sort.

### Insights

Open alerts across the fleet, newest first: *Opened At*, *Resource* (the system or device that raised it), *Description* and *Severity*. The count in the tab label is the number of *open* alerts, not all alerts ever raised.

This is a read-and-triage view. To filter, group, dismiss or turn an alert into a service call, use **View All** and work in Insights & Alerts.

### Service Calls

![The Service Calls tab on the dashboard](https://cdn-assets.productfruits.com/f3d4635f-206d-4856-94be-ea2bf522d3a9)

Maintenance work across the fleet: *Asset*, *Description*, *Type*, *Opened At* and *Closed At*. An empty *Closed At* means the call is still open.

Read this together with the Service Calls KPI card. The card tells you how many are overdue; this tab tells you which ones. **View All** opens Operations → CMMS: Service Calls.

## Filtering and the period

Two controls at the top right change everything on the page at once.

The **funnel** opens a filter panel down the left. It holds:

- **Vendor** — the monitoring platform the data comes from.
- **Live Status** — Healthy, Sleeping, Faulty, Offline, No Generation.
- **Performance Category** — Optimal, Average, Low, using the thresholds set in Settings → Global Settings → Performance.
- **Customer** and **Groups** — the account and group structures from Operations and Settings.
- **Capacity (kWp)** — a minimum and maximum.
- **Service Call Status**, **General**, **Alerts** and **Tags** — collapsed sections holding the rest.

**Period** offers Daily, Monthly, Yearly and Custom, with arrows either side of the date to step backwards and forwards one period at a time.

Both settings apply to the KPI strip, the map, the chart and all three tabs simultaneously. That is the single most useful thing to remember about this page — and the single commonest cause of confusion, because a filter left on from yesterday makes the whole fleet look smaller than it is.

## The top bar

The bar above the dashboard follows you through the whole portal:

- The **account selector** beside the panel toggle switches tenant, for users who have more than one.
- **Search** (or ⌘K / Ctrl+K) is a command palette — the fastest way to jump to a system by name.
- A **clipboard** icon showing onboarding progress, and a **bell** for reminders that need attention.
- **Fullscreen**, the **support centre**, and your **user menu**.

## Common tasks

### Morning check, in order

1. Clear the filter panel first, so you are looking at the whole fleet.
2. Read **Service Calls** — the overdue figure in red is the only number on the strip that represents work already late.
3. Open **Insights** and scan the high-severity rows at the top.
4. Glance at the map for a grey cluster, which points at a regional or vendor-wide problem rather than individual sites.
5. Check the energy curve for the shape you expect at this hour.
6. Use **View All** from whichever tab had something in it, and do the work there.

### Check one customer or one group

1. Open the filter panel and choose the customer or group.
2. The KPI strip, map, chart and all three tabs now describe only that subset.
3. Set **Period** to Monthly for a reporting conversation, or leave it Daily for an operational one.

### Compare a bad day with a good one

1. Leave **Period** on Daily.
2. Step back with the arrow beside the date and watch the energy curve and the Production card.
3. Remember that MTD and Lifetime will not move — only Production and the chart respond.

## Common questions

**Production shows 0 kWh but the sites are fine.**
Check the time of day and the selected date first, then the filter panel. Zero with a healthy Lifetime figure is normal before the fleet has reported for the period.

**The system count on the dashboard differs from Fleet Management.**
Almost always a filter left applied on one of the two pages. Clear both and compare again.

**Why do the tabs show only a few rows?**
By design — the dashboard previews, the full pages list. **View All** takes you to the complete, filterable version.

**Can I change which KPIs appear?**
No, the strip is fixed. What you can change is what feeds it: the production source and the performance thresholds live in Settings → Global Settings.

**The map is empty.**
Either the filter excludes everything, or the systems in scope have no coordinates set. Coordinates are on each system's Info tab.
